The Allen Hamner Memorial Foundation announced the winners of the foundation's first ever Sun Safety Poster Contest at an awards assembly at Condon Grade School on Monday, May 5. There were 72 posters entered in the contest from students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. Cash prizes of $20, $15 and $10 were awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in four divisions: Kindergarten through 2nd grade, 3rd and 4th grade, 5th and 6th grade and 7th and 8th grade.

Kindergarten through 2nd grade honors went to Jenna C. (first place), Bryce H. (second place) and Lacy A. (third place). In 3rd and 4th grade, first place was awarded to Jordan M., second place to Shawna M. and third place to Piper J. First, second and third place in 5th and 6th grade went to Matney J., Raschelle S. and Angel S., respectively. Hannah F., Sophia B. and Dani W. placed first, second and third in the 7th and 8th grade division. Photos from the awards assembly on Monday, May 5th are available here.

The Cook-Off will be July 5-6, 2008. We have also decided to change the name to the "Eastern Oregon BBQ Championship".
